Ateneo Reunion Cup (ARC)

Why do Ateneans from Davao City hold this kind of prestigious event? It is not because of the money - there is no major cash price for the winners. It is because of the thrill, pride and unity that makes every Atenean in each batch join the league every december. Note, the entrance doesn't come cheap.

Every year, starting from june up to the tournament proper, players start to tone up, work out and practice to get the crown.

As most of us know, Ateneans are known for their pride and strong attitude. So, they NEVER BACK DOWN. To do that, they come prepared.

However, as i have mentioned, it is more than just a league or a game. It is more than the cash price or the trophy. It's the time when batchmates tend to meet and bond once again as they used to when they were in high school. Some would wait for the tournament to end so that there will be a fellowship to be held usually at a privately rented function area in a certain restobar. There will be a feast of beer and fun. It is the time when players would enjoy the company of fellow ateneans and celebrate their hardwork during the tournament.

Ateneo Reunion Cup is truly a wonderful and exciting event which is definitely worth the wait. So, if you're an audience who loves basketball, may it be an atenean or not, you are definitely invited by the committee to watch and support your hardcourt idols.

H ave you noticed that every before and after games, players huddle up and form a circle while holding their hands up high with heads down? Their praying. Asking God for guidance and safety. Why? Faith. Faith is what drives them throughout the game. As the term goes, "Salig Lang," which means Trust in the Lord and just leave it to him. T here are players in different places who set up pick up games for other players and in turn, make it a tool to spread the holy word. They are such good examples for all of us. Basketball and Autism - Ross Gomez

W e all have our struggles in life. However, there is one person who caught the attention of many people. His perseverance and determination to fight his disability (Autism) has truly been an inspiration to all the kids or adults who suffer from the same.
